The Peggy Greer Posey Scholarship
To know my mother, Peggy is to know she did not play when it came to my studies or education. In fact, she is the reason why I can stand here today and my “WHY” for continuing my journey to further my education when I did.
Growing up, I watched her work hard day in and day out to provide for me, her only child, her only baby. And she did just that, respectfully. My mom raised me as a single mother/ parent , so it was not always easy. With the help from God, Family and friends ( The Village) , my Mother was able to help me and be there for my biggest accomplishments. She was there for my Kindergarten graduation all the way to my Master’s Ceremony in 2018.
My mother Peggy Greer Posey passed away July 10, 2024. This tragic loss forever has changed me. She was my world, my everything, the very reason why I am alive today. I miss her so much. Her warm embrace, her smile, her unconditional love, and most of all her advice, the way she prayed for me and always had my back. We always had each other.
In remembrance of Peggy, I would like to start a scholarship fund. This is the “Peggy Greer Posey Scholarship “. There will be 2 winners/ recipients each year, a current high graduate and a current college student. In order to win the scholarship, each contestant must meet and submit all the requirements.
